Seed to Soar Award

Ministry History & Award Details

Sisters in the Journey (SIJ) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to “never see a sister journey alone”.   The year, 2019, marked SIJ’s 10th year of empowering women through bible studies, small groups, achieving personal goals, and mentoring.  Over the past 11 years we have helped hundreds of women realize their God given potential and to journey through life’s ups and downs with another sister.

SIJ embraces partnerships, realizing that being interdependent is essential to spiritual growth.  These partnerships assist our partners to extend their reach into the community and beyond.

In 2020 we will launch our Seed to Soar Award. Our goal is to award $10,000 over the next five years to seed or water the dream of a sister that has overcome obstacles on their journey and yet persevered.  These are women who have been prayerfully selected who are serving the community and making a difference in the lives of others.

All proceeds from the October 2019 Sisters in the Journey Gala went towards the Seed to Soar Award program.  In 2020 two organizations impacting the community and bringing hope to those who find themselves in hopeless situations, were awarded $1,000.00 each to continue their work in the community. SIJ will continue fundraising and soliciting support from area corporations, foundations, and individuals over the next 5 years.

We invite you to support our Seed to Soar Award program. Following is an overview of the initiative. For additional information or to nominate someone for the award, inquiries should be directed to [email protected] Attn: STS Review Committee.
